Trevor Barker was a solicitor in private practice in Canberra and Bungendore for over forty years before moving to Berry with his wife Pam, a well known potter, in 2014. He is now able to give more time to his special interests—literature, music and art, and some sports—as well as conversation with local good and interesting people.

Having left Sydney in 2019 to live in our country community, Megan Brownlow brings 25 years’ of experience in media, marketing and managing digital disruption, ranging from assessing new business models to facilitating strategy development sessions for boards and senior management. Megan balances her time here with roles in Sydney such as Deputy Chair of Screen Australia.

Mary Cunnane (President/Secretary) is a former publisher and literary agent, now a freelance editor and publishing consultant. Originally from New York, she moved to Australia in 1998 and to Berry in 2014. She has served as vice-president of the Sydney PEN Centre and the Australian Literary Agents Association.

A love of literature has woven itself throughout Wendy Firth’s journey from country to city and now Berry. An eclectic array of working experiences and study have led Wendy to the current blend of academia and communications where she has found her ‘happy place’.

A new Berry resident with a life-long interest and commitment to the arts, Colleen Fry has worked as an art educator in schools and galleries and maintains an art practice. A published art writer and curator of exhibitions, she is the Sculpture in the Valley 2017 Exhibition Director, Arts in the Valley, Kangaroo Valley.

Cherrie McDonald (Treasurer) is a Certified Practising Accountant who worked for investment companies before specialising in the not-for-profit sector with Greening Australia, Amnesty International and Bundanon Trust. She moved to Berry in 2001 and has a keen interest in environmental and social issues, as well as the arts.  Cherrie recently gained a Graduate Certificate in Garden Design from Melbourne University.

With a background in public health and international development for over forty years, Heather Macdonald has worked extensively with the World Health Organisation both in Europe and globally, and with AusAid in the Asia Pacific region. Heather retired to Berry and is active in the area of the arts and music within this vibrant community.

Leslie Pigott (Vice President) is a Canadian by birth and a nurse by training.  She lived and worked in the developing world for some time prior to moving back to Australia with husband Bill to retire in Berry.  She is a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and is active in Landcare.

Bill Pigott, originally from Adelaide, studied medicine and has worked in interesting locations, including PNG, Nepal and Cambodia. After twenty one years with the World Health Organisation, he ‘retired’ to Berry and is engaged with the local community, especially in Landcare. He sings with the Shoalhaven Lydian Singers.
